Facial rejuvenation treatments for a healthy, beautiful glow from the inside out!
We use a combination of facial acupuncture using very fine, thin needles, facial cupping, and gua sha, as well as herbal formulations when needed to develop a comprehensive facial rejuvenation package. Nutrition coaching can also be included. A minimum of 10 sessions, (2/week for 5 weeks) is highly recommended for optimal results. Clients see a reduction in fine wrinkles, increased blood flow and oxygen to the facial area, resulting in a radiant glow, even skin tone, increased firmness and a more youthful appearance.
Micro-needling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that delivers visible reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, improved skin texture and tone, and helps in the gradual elimination of hyper-pigmentation on the face. A series of treatments can help to improve results and with longer term effects as opposed to a single treatment. Ask about our 4, 6 and 10 treatment packages that offer a significant discount.
How does it work?
Micro-needling works by stimulating collagen production. It creates micro-punctures or micro-traumas in the skin using miniature, sterilized needles at an accelerated rate of rotation, and at a specific depth in the dermis layer of the skin. The tiny micro-channels from the procedure cause slight injury to the skin and the skin responds by making new collagen-rich tissue.
In addition, the new skin tissue can be more even in tone and texture. By encouraging the skin to make new tissue, additional collagen may help make the skin firmer. As we get older, aging skin is inevitably associated with a decrease in collagen turner (due to a decrease in fibroblasts and their collagen synthesis) as well as elastin.1 Known also as Collagen Induction Therapy (CID), it is through this process that micro-needling naturally helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles, brighten skin, help with uneven skin tone, as well as provide a refreshing glow to the skin.
According to the American Academy of Dermatology Association (AADA), "the skin’s healing process after micro-needling can help reduce the appearance of scars and dark spots, as well as improve skin elasticity. Micro-needling may also be combined with topical serums, Light-Emitting Diode (LED) therapy, and platelet-rich plasma (a.k.a 'vampire facial')."
All micro-needling treatments at Tao Natural Healing include red light therapy and the infusion of stem-cell based serums to further accelerate the healing process after the micro-traumas to the skin.
What to expect after a treatment?
You can expect some redness and tightness of the skin on the face, neck or area treated after micro-needling. It can feel like a sunburn and a bit warm to the touch. By day 2, much of the redness will go down and you can resume your normal skincare routine. It is best to avoid the sun especially in the first few days after treatment. You will also want to hydrate both the skin and yourself (by drinking lots of water) and wear sunscreen if outside. Our specialists will advise you about after-care instructions and provide some stem-cell serums for you to take home with you after the treatment.
How much does it cost?
Micro-needling is significantly less invasive and less expensive than a face-lift. It is also considerably less expensive than laser therapy and may work better for some people. Laser treatments involve the use of heat, which can affect your skin’s pigmentation. People with darker skin tones may prefer micro-needling to laser therapy because of safety concerns associated with certain types of laser treatments on skin of color.
